Imagine living in a country where 40% of its population can call each other for free. Thanks to the cell phone company COMVIQ and their killer deal BUDDY, that is what’s happening in Sweden. Sounds like good news, right? Not if you don’t have BUDDY. Then no one will call you. To help these poor souls out of their misery COMVIQ came up with a new scheme: Borrow-a-buddy.

During three weeks in april, some of Sweden’s most celebrated stand-up comedians took on the task of being Borrow-buddies at Comviq.se. Mobile castaways, hungry for action, lined up in droves at the site to let the stand-in buddies speak for them. Often with comic consequences.
